The BPE certificate program is designed for international students who are non-native speakers of English.  BPE certificate students are interested in developing an advanced level of English for business and professional purposes, and in learning the basics of American business practices. A university degree and minimum TOEFL score of 70 IBT/195 CBT/525 PBT or IELTS score of 6 are required for admission to this program. 

The Fall semester of this two semester program includes a 20-hour per week English for Professional Purposes course and two Business Administration courses, Principles of Management and Principles of Marketing. The Spring semester includes an English for Specific Business Purposes course which meets an average of 18 hours per week, and three Business Administration courses, Business Accounting, Business Financial Management, and Business Policy. All Business Administration Courses are taken jointly with American students at Georgetown University. Faculty members in the Certificate Program are full-time, experienced professors from the Georgetown University English as a Foreign Language Intensive Program and the McDonough School of Business.
